Panel meeting review
The pathology report on your cancer will be available a few days
after surgery.
The pathology results will be presented at a multidisciplinary
panel meeting.
Modern breast cancer treatment involves a combination of treatment
options designed to stop the cancer in its tracks.
A variety of specialists will be involved in providing these
services.
The multidisciplinary meeting has evolved as an important tool in
providing clear communication and discussion between these
different doctors. The meeting is attended by:
- Pathologist
- Radiologist
- Surgeon
- Medical oncologist
- Radiation oncologist
It provides an important opportunity to review your case
comprehensively and to discuss the benefits and timing of any
further treatment.
The optimum timing and sequence of treatments varies from case to
case.
A personalised plan will be formulated for your situation.
This meeting can also be used as a forum to provide a second
opinion on treatment options.
